Tyler has been working with dogs since his teenaged years when he worked as a kennel tech on a farm in his Missouri hometown. After serving our country as an Infantryman in the US Army, Tyler’s interest in dogs led him to the world of training police dogs. He went from formal schooling at US K9 Unlimited to numerous workshops and seminars where he learned high level tracking, bite mechanics, proper K9 integration in to SWAT teams, and various other K9 training applications. In 2018, Tyler founded BlueStripe K9 with the dream of helping families who were on the verge of surrendering their dogs for severe behavioral issues; he also set out to help law enforcement K9 teams. Since then, Tyler has trained dogs from all over the eastern half of the US, saving dozens of dogs from surrender and euthanasia. At the same time, he developed his training ability in the dog sport arena, acquiring knowledge hands on. Tyler attended Tarheel School for Dog Trainers in 2021, where he certified as a PSA Decoy. He then went on to certify as a IGP helper, qualifying him to test dogs in the two biggest bite-sports in the country.
